How to run check-in and manage scanners

A smooth door makes a great first impression. Set up your scanners before showtime and entry day runs itself.

What this guide covers

Control event entry: create scanner credentials for staff/devices, check tickets in, review history, and reverse accidental scans.

What you'll need

An event, and staff/devices to run the door.

Where to go

Organizer dashboard → Scanners (management) and Check-in (operations). The scanner device app lives at the platform's scanner page.

Step by step

  1. Create a scanner entry for each door device/staff member; a scan code is generated.
  2. If a code leaks or a device is replaced, regenerate its scan code (old one stops working).
  3. On event day, staff sign in on the scanner app and scan guest QR codes; each scan checks the ticket in.
  4. Wrong ticket scanned? Use uncheck to reverse it.
  5. Review scan history for the event afterward; check-in logs give you attendance records.

And then?

Checked-in tickets are recorded with timestamps. Duplicate check-ins are rejected by the scanner flow.

Good to know (rules & limits)

  • Regenerating a scan code invalidates the previous one — coordinate with staff before doing it.
  • Scanner endpoints are rate-limited (abuse protection); unusually fast automated scanning may be throttled.

How accurate is this?

Verified from source: scanner CRUD + regenerate-code + scan-history + check-in/uncheck endpoints (organizer) and scanner device auth/check-in/uncheck/history endpoints with dedicated throttling.
