How to watch a livestream
Watching from home? Once your event is live, joining the stream takes seconds. Here's what to expect.
What this guide covers
Join a virtual/livestream event using a valid ticket, watch live, and participate in stream chat.
What you'll need
- A valid ticket for the livestream event.
- The event must be live (started by the organizer).
Where to go
The watch link on your ticket page — open My Tickets and select the livestream ticket.
SCREENSHOT_REQUIRED: end-user/stream/watch-page SCREENSHOT_REQUIRED: end-user/stream/chat-panel
Step by step
- Open the watch page for your ticket while the event is live.
- The platform starts a stream session tied to your ticket.
- Keep the page open — the player sends a periodic heartbeat; if it stops, the session ends.
- Chat from the chat panel if the event has it enabled.
And then?
You watch the stream under your session. Organizers can ban viewers (by email or IP) for misconduct — banned viewers cannot rejoin.
Good to know (rules & limits)
- One stream session per join; sessions expire without a recent heartbeat (~30 seconds).
- Bans are enforced by email or IP address.
- Some streams support paid contributions to the event during the livestream (if enabled).
If something goes wrong
- "Event not live" — wait for the start time; the organizer starts the stream.
- Stream stops/buffering — refresh the page to rejoin; check your connection.
- Cannot rejoin after being removed — you may be banned; contact the organizer.
How accurate is this?
Verified from source: join-by-ticket, session token guard, 30s heartbeat rule, ban-by-email/IP, chat endpoints, contributions. Contribution payment flow details are configuration-dependent.
