How to upgrade a ticket
Want a better seat or a VIP experience? If your event allows upgrades, moving up is straightforward — here's how.
What this guide covers
Exchange a ticket from a paid order for a higher tier, paying only the price difference. Available only for events where the organizer has enabled upgrades.
What you'll need
- A paid order (upgrades start from your order/ticket page).
- Upgrades must be enabled for the event (organizer/admin toggle).
Where to go
The upgrade option on your order or ticket page — open My Tickets, find the order, and choose Upgrade.

Step by step
- Open your order (see Access your tickets).
- Choose Upgrade and review the eligible destination tiers and the calculated price difference.
- Reserve the upgrade and pay the difference by card.
- On success, your original ticket is superseded by the new tier.
And then?
- Success: you receive the upgraded ticket; the old ticket is no longer valid for entry.
- Cancel: you can cancel a pending (unpaid) upgrade before confirming.
- Refund: a paid upgrade can be refunded per policy, reverting per the platform's upgrade rules.
Good to know (rules & limits)
- Upgrade availability depends on destination tier inventory and the event's upgrade toggle.
- Each reservation is temporary — complete payment before it expires (expiry duration needs validation).
If something goes wrong
- No upgrade option shown? Upgrades are disabled for that event, the order is unpaid, or no eligible destination tiers exist.
- "Reservation expired" — restart the upgrade; inventory is released back automatically.
How accurate is this?
Verified from source: full upgrade lifecycle (eligibility → destinations → calculate → reserve → status/cancel/confirm/refund/payment-intent) and per-event upgrade toggles. Reservation expiry timing needs validation.
